The description

The Brand Director, FailArmy is the cross-functional lead, responsible for helping to lead and manage the growth and monetization of FailArmy. This includes content strategy, audience development, and audience engagement. They will also develop the brand’s voice, look and feel in collaboration with our branding and marketing teams.

They will also own the indirect revenue from the social channel, commerce and community engagement for their brand, balancing a holistic vision of brand expansion with top-notch, detailed and practical daily execution based on the data.

The director will manage a dedicated brand team comprising a producer, associate producers and a community manager. In addition, the Director will liaise closely with the e-commerce, marketing, brand partnerships, production and TV streaming teams to ensure that the brand vision is optimized across all distribution channels, including the streaming television and television. This leader will also develop a holistic vision for brand expansion into new revenue streams and new businesses including e-commerce, streaming TV, subscription content and digital events / experiences by leveraging its large presence and audience on social networks.

This position will report to the SVP, Social Programming and is based in Los Angeles.


  • Help define the strategy and execute the business plan for your brand

  • Hire, train, manage and develop a team
  • Formulate and execute the audience growth plan, including publication rate and type of format per platform
  • Inform programming strategy, including content listing, creative development and talent development; use rapid testing, data, and audience feedback to iterate and optimize brand content
  • Implement innovative and creative content integration, marketing initiatives and partnerships to achieve the brand’s e-commerce goals
  • Oversee the community manager (s) to execute the audience engagement and influencer partnership strategy; implement best practices to directly listen, speak and understand our audience
  • Develop, negotiate and manage cross partnerships with creators, brands and external influencers
  • Track and optimize indirect monetization efforts against plan; Dynamically adjust the platform’s output cadence and distribution strategy to stay abreast of changing conditions and new opportunities
  • Collaborate with sales to create and execute sponsorship opportunities without compromising the voice and integrity of the brand
  • Manage new platform distribution agreements and organize content
  • Work with the VP of Brand Strategy to research and implement new revenue streams
  • Create an offline presence for the brand at events, conferences and conventions
