SUVA – US Chargé d’Affaires Tony Greubel today hosted a virtual panel discussion titled “Pacific Opportunities in Electronic Commerce” as part of the Indo-Pacific Business Forum (IPBF). Chargé Greubel hosted Pacific Islands Forum (PIF) Program and Initiatives Director Zarak Khan and Pacific Islands Private Sector Organization (PIPSO) Vice-President Jennifer Ula-Fruean at IPBF.
Following the opening speech by PIF Secretary General Henry Puna, panel members shared their expertise on the 2020-2025 PIF Pacific Aid for Trade strategy and the new opportunities that technological advancements offer the region. . Chargé Greubel noted: “There is a growing demand for the US private sector to implement the e-commerce shift in the Pacific.
The Indo-Pacific Business Forum is a premier public-private event hosted by the United States Government and the United States Chamber of Commerce. Now in its fourth year, the 2021 event is co-hosted by the governments of the United States and India. Over 1,500 people joined virtually for two days of programming.
