The Estes Park Nonprofit Resource Center (EPNRC) is leading an initiative to secure a Diversity Engagement (DEC) coordinator for the Estes Valley. This position would lead the Community Diversity Engagement program at the Estes Park Nonprofit Resource Center (EPNRC). They will help connect the more than 70 nonprofits in the Estes Valley to the diverse and historically underserved populations of our community.
EPNRC’s number one request is genuine connection with diverse communities to ensure that resources and services reach everyone. Individual nonprofits often do not have the resources or the capacity to hire specifically for this result. Whereas the mission of EPRNC is to connect, support and inspire non-profit organizations. They are the appropriate organization to promote and provide this position to the community.
DEC will certainly be available to translate promotional material, but the vision for this position includes a higher level of connection and cultural results. They will be responsible for attending local city, county and state meetings focused on advocacy work on diversity, equity and inclusion in the nonprofit sector. They will help agencies maintain equitable policies and practices and work to collectively correct systemic inequalities in the Vallée des Estes region. They will also ensure that agencies provide appropriate and accessible programs for all who live, serve and play in our community.
EPNRC launches fundraising initiative to hire for this position with an initial goal of $ 7,000 through Colorado Gives Day (December 7). Individuals and businesses are encouraged to visit ColoradoGives.org by December 7 to plan a donation (all donations planned for Colorado Gives Day are eligible for matching funds).
This CED position is collaborative in many ways. The position serves the community and should be funded by those who use, benefit from and support a DEC. The sustainability of this position comes from a strong portfolio of donors. EPNRC has already started soliciting grants, individual donors are invited to donate through the ColoradoGives.org platform, and county and city entities will be solicited.
The recruitment process will also be collaborative. Representatives or service providers from all groups (seniors, LGBTQIA +, Latinx, J-1 Visa, etc.) will all have a say in the hiring process.
