Infosys and Microsoft commit to several years with Ausgrid

BENGALURU : Infosys Ltd and Microsoft have entered into a multi-year strategic engagement with Ausgrid, the largest electricity distributor on the east coast of Australia, to accelerate its transformation journey to the cloud and make Ausgrid one of the leading services digital audiences.

This program will reinforce Ausgrid’s vision of connecting communities and empowering lives with a focus on affordability, reliability and sustainability, Infosys said.

“With over 4 million Australians relying on our services every day, it is essential that we maintain our high level of reliability and connectivity, as well as meet the expectations of Australian communities. Accelerating our cloud transformation process in partnership with Infosys and Microsoft allows us to improve network reliability, maintain downward pressure on electricity prices and bring new services to market quickly. and cost effectively, ”said Nick Crowe, Acting Director. information officer, Ausgrid.

Cloud adoption is a key element in enabling Ausgrid to increase the agility, security and resiliency of business operations. Infosys said the cloud program is designed to lower Ausgrid’s cost of ownership and improve the performance of its IT systems and applications.

As part of this strategic commitment, Infosys and Microsoft are helping Ausgrid meet these challenges by modernizing its application landscape and optimizing the IT infrastructure. The cloud-based transformation program, launched in mid-2020, is being implemented in a phased approach, leveraging a cloud management platform combined with managed services.
